Go to "Store › Settings › Shopping Notifications" in your dashboard to manage automated notifications for 9 transaction scenarios, ranging from "customer orders, payment codes, and shipping updates to completed refunds."
Each scenario covers two types of notifications:
Many sellers ask if automated notifications count toward their monthly email limit. The rule is straightforward:
| Recipient | Counts towards monthly email quota? | Plan limits and custom domain requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Order notifications to customers (9 scenarios total) | Free; does not count towards monthly quota | Unlimited sending and custom content for Free, Pro, and Business plans. Even if you haven't verified a custom domain, emails are reliably sent via Kanorio's official address. Once you verify your domain in “Site Settings › Email”, emails will automatically be sent using your brand domain. Transactional notifications are essential for order fulfillment and are sent regardless of newsletter subscription status; they do not include an “Unsubscribe” link. |
| “Kanorio Inbox” notifications to team | Free; does not count towards monthly quota | Displayed in the “Inbox” at the bottom right of the dashboard. Accessible by owners, admins, and members. |
| “Team Email” notifications to team | 1st recipient is free; subsequent recipients count towards monthly quota | Free plan supports up to 1 recipient (the site owner, free of charge). Pro and Business plans support up to 10 recipients. Starting from the 2nd recipient, each email sent deducts 1 from your monthly email quota (see and ). |
When your connected payment provider or shipping carrier automatically sends their own notification emails or SMS to the buyer, Kanorio will automatically skip the customer email to prevent the buyer from receiving duplicate notifications. (These will be clearly marked as Notified by payment provider or Notified by shipping carrier in your ).
Below are the trigger timings, default settings, and auto-skip rules for the 9 scenarios:
| Scenario | Trigger | Customer Email (Default) | Team Notification (Default) | When is the customer email automatically skipped? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1. Order paid (order_paid) | Payment successful (or $0 free product claimed) | Order Confirmation (Always on, includes order details and digital content link) | • Team Email: On; • Inbox: On; • Webhook: Per subscription | Always sent (Payment provider notifications often lack full order items and digital download links). |
2. Payment instructions issued (payment_instructions_issued) | Customer selects ATM or convenience store payment | Payment Instructions (Default: On) | None | Skipped when using PAYUNi as they send their own instructions. Sent by Kanorio when using SHOPLINE Payments ATM. |
3. Payment due soon (payment_due_soon) | 24 hours before payment deadline | Payment Reminder (Default: On) | None | Skipped if the deadline is less than 25 hours away at the time of order. Automatically cancelled if payment is completed before the reminder is sent. |
Why are some cards labeled "Not applicable to this site"? If your store only sells digital products (no shipping enabled) or your current payment methods don't include ATM/convenience store codes, the relevant pending payment or shipping scenarios will be automatically marked as "Not applicable to this site." You don't need to manually turn them off; these notifications will automatically activate once the corresponding payment or shipping methods are enabled.
Click on any scenario that supports team notifications (e.g., "When a buyer completes payment" or "When delivery is abnormal"). In the "Notify Website Team" section, you can toggle Team Email and Kanorio Inbox switches:
If you want to add brand-specific greetings or notes to order confirmation or shipping notification emails, click on the scenario panel and select "Edit Content" in the "Notify Customer" section:
Store Name, Recipient Name, Order Number, Order Amount, Payment Deadline, Carrier, Tracking Number, Refund Amount). These will be automatically replaced with real order information when sent. The order confirmation email serves as the official proof of transaction for the buyer and is the only way for digital product buyers to access their "Purchased Content." To protect the rights of both buyers and sellers and reduce disputes, this email is permanently enabled.
Go to "Customers › Records" in the left sidebar of your dashboard and enter the buyer's email to see the actual status of every email (e.g., Delivered, Bounced, Notified by payment provider, etc.). For a complete troubleshooting guide, see Delivery Records.
No. Electronic invoice issuance, cancellation, and allowance notifications are sent directly to the buyer by your connected Electronic Invoice Value-Added Center (e.g., Amego, ECPay, ezPay).
