Course costs are primarily determined by two factors: how many hours of course video you have uploaded and your monthly sales revenue. The number of times students watch, the number of students, or the number of courses you offer do not affect your costs. This guide helps you calculate your estimated monthly expenses and choose the right plan.

Course video storage is divided into two parts:
Based on common 1080p export settings, the estimated space per hour of course video is:

Add storage when needed: For Pro and Business plans, additional storage costs US$1.80 per 20 GB per month, which is enough for about 13 hours of presentation-style or 3 hours of talking-head video. Per-hour breakdown: Each additional hour of talking-head video costs approximately US$0.54 per month; presentation-style costs about US$0.14. You can enable "Auto-purchase storage when full" to ensure uploads are never blocked. See Storage and add-ons for rules.
Free plans do not offer storage add-ons; please use Pro or higher for video courses. If you are only selling ebooks, handouts, or templates, the Free plan is usually sufficient.
Each paid order incurs two types of fees:

For a US$100 course: Kanorio charges US$9 on the Free plan, US$3 on the Pro plan, and US$0 on the Business plan. Payment processing fees are the same regardless of the plan. Free courses ($0 orders) incur no fees. See Platform and payment processing fees for fee structures and provider rates.
No matter how many times students watch or download, your costs will not increase: Kanorio does not charge for playback bandwidth, watch time, student count, course count, or product count.
Calculations below only include fees paid to Kanorio (plan fee, storage add-ons, platform fees); payment processing fees are the same for every plan and are calculated separately.

When to switch to Business: The difference between the two plans is US$79 per month, with a 3% difference in platform fees. When monthly course revenue exceeds approximately US$2,600, the Business plan becomes more cost-effective. If you have over 10 GB of video, the 200 GB included in the Business plan saves on add-on fees, lowering the threshold—for example, with 120 GB of video, the threshold is about US$2,300.
Newsletters are a feature for Pro plans and above, calculated per recipient. Pro includes 500 emails per month, and Business includes 10,000. If you exceed your limit, you can purchase more for US$0.90 per 100 emails.
For example, sending 4 newsletters per month to 500 subscribers equals 2,000 emails: Pro requires purchasing 1,500 additional emails for US$13.50 per month; the Business plan's included quota is sufficient. Automated emails like order confirmations and login verifications are not counted. See Usage billing and add-ons for rules.
No. Playback bandwidth, download traffic, and watch time are not charged and do not count toward storage. Costs are only related to how many hours of video you store and your sales revenue.
Old versions are moved to the trash and permanently deleted after 30 days; they still count toward your storage during this time. To free up space immediately, you can empty the trash. See Manage and replace files in the Media library.
Existing courses will continue to play as usual. When storage is full, new uploads will be blocked, and streaming versions for new videos will wait until space is available; students can watch the original file in the meantime. Enable "Auto-purchase storage when full" to prevent interruptions.
