ECPay is a widely used electronic invoice value-added service center in Taiwan (suitable for stores with a "Business Location" in Taiwan TW and "Store Currency" in New Taiwan Dollar TWD).
In Kanorio, you can integrate ECPay's electronic invoice service independently—without needing to use ECPay for payment processing. Whether your customers pay via PAYUNi, SHOPLINE Payments, LINE Pay, or JKO Pay, ECPay can automatically issue, void, or issue allowances for electronic invoices. You can also resend notifications to customers directly from the Kanorio order dashboard by clicking "Resend Notification".
Before entering your credentials in Kanorio, please ensure you have completed the following settings on the official ECPay website:
MerchantIDHashKey (16 characters, for electronic invoices only)HashIV (16 characters, for electronic invoices only)Common Error Warning: Do not use your "Payment" HashKey / HashIV! In the ECPay dashboard, "All-in-One Payment," "Logistics," and "Electronic Invoice" each use different sets of
HashKeyandHashIV. If you accidentally paste your payment keys into the invoice settings, the connection test will fail with a decryption error (code110). Please ensure you copy the 16-character keys specifically for Electronic Invoices.
MerchantIDHashKey (16 characters)HashIV (16 characters)Click the "Invoice Management" button in the top right corner, ensure ECPay is in the "Enabled" section, and save your changes.
ECPay sends notifications to customers when invoices are issued, voided, or allowances are issued (for allowances, Kanorio automatically includes the customer's email for ECPay to send the notification). To avoid duplicate notifications, check your notification rules in the ECPay merchant dashboard under "Invoice Notification Settings."
Once ECPay is enabled, the checkout page will offer options for personal carriers (ECPay member carrier, mobile barcode, citizen digital certificate), charity donation codes, and B2B invoices with Tax IDs:
Print=1) by default. ECPay's API strictly requires a "Recipient Address" (missing values will result in rejection). Therefore, the checkout page ensures the company address is provided before the order is submitted. After an order is paid or refunded, you can open the specific order in your "Orders" dashboard and switch to the "Invoice" tab (see for automatic void/allowance rules):
| Function Button | Description and Scope |
|---|---|
| Copy Invoice Info / Copy Allowance Info | Copy the invoice number, random code, date, and amount with one click. |
| View Invoice (Open Print Page) | For invoices with a company tax ID (or invoices set to be printable upon issuance), clicking this will retrieve a dedicated invoice print page link from ECPay (valid for 1 hour after each retrieval). Personal cloud carriers and donation invoices cannot be printed due to legal restrictions, so this button will not appear. |
| Resend Notification (ECPay Exclusive Support) | If a customer reports not receiving the invoice issuance, cancellation, or allowance notification sent by ECPay, you can click "Resend Notification" directly on the order invoice tab. The system will immediately call the ECPay InvoiceNotify interface to resend the notification to the customer's email for that order. |
| Common Issues | ECPay Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
"Invalid Key or Certificate" displayed when saving credentials (Code 110) | HashKey or HashIV is incorrect (most commonly mistaken for ECPay "Payment" or "Logistics" keys, or the length is not 16 characters). | Go to the ECPay merchant backend under "System Development Management › System Integration Settings" to re-copy the 16-character HashKey and HashIV specifically for Electronic Invoices. |
"Function Not Enabled" displayed (Code 115) | The ECPay merchant ID has not yet applied for or enabled the "B2C Electronic Invoice" service. | Log in to the ECPay merchant backend to complete the electronic invoice service activation and track settings. |
| Issuance failed and automatic retry stopped | The current invoice track quota is exhausted, or the track has not yet taken effect. | Add more quota for the current track in the ECPay backend, then contact Kanorio support for assistance with resending. |
No. Kanorio integrates with ECPay allowances using the "Standard Allowance (/B2CInvoice/Allowance)" mode, which does not require customer confirmation. When you process a partial refund (or a full refund across billing periods) in the dashboard, the system automatically issues the allowance and triggers ECPay to send the notification email to the customer for a seamless process.
To prevent 1-unit discrepancies caused by rounding errors when dividing by 1.05 for multi-item or discounted orders—which would lead to ECPay rejections due to "Total amount mismatch"—Kanorio sends line items to ECPay in tax-inclusive mode (vat=1). ECPay then calculates the pre-tax amount and the 5% VAT, ensuring 100% stable issuance.
