Courses themselves are not priced; you sell them through products. When a student purchases a product, the system automatically grants access to the linked courses upon successful payment. By separating "what you sell" from "what they get," you can offer the same course in multiple ways, with custom pricing, specifications, and access durations for each.
Before you start: Create a product and set its price in "Store › Products". See Product Management. For paid products, ensure your payment gateway is connected; see Payment Methods & Billing.
$0products do not require a payment gateway.
Both entry points modify the same settings, so you can start from either:
Both physical and digital products can be linked. The product type only determines whether shipping is required, and you can set this per specification: for example, if "Online Course" and "Online Course + Physical Book" are two specs of the same product, only the latter needs "Requires shipping" enabled. Both specs can grant access to the same course. See Product Management for details.
To offer a "Basic" version with handouts only and a "Full" version with videos, split the content into two courses: one for handouts and one for videos. Link both to the same product, but only grant access to the video course for the "Full" version bundle. Each course tracks progress and completion independently; Basic students complete the course once they finish the handouts.
Course prices are set on the product. Common pricing methods include:
| Pricing Model | How to set up |
|---|---|
| Fixed Price | Set the price in the product settings |
| Tiered Pricing (e.g., Basic vs. Full version) | Create two product variants with different prices; add the extra content for the full version as a separate course and grant access only to the full version variant |
| Duration-based Pricing (e.g., 1-year vs. Lifetime) | Add a "Plan" option to the product (e.g., "1-year", "Lifetime"), price each combination separately, set access duration to 365 days for the 1-year plan, and leave it blank for the lifetime plan |
| Pay-what-you-want (Student enters amount) | Enable "Allow custom amount" for the product; this checkout method does not support promotions |
| Early Bird or Tiered Price Increases | Use multiple non-overlapping "Limited-time offers" (see below) |
| First N-customers Discount | Set a "Usage limit" in the promotion settings, e.g., for the first 50 students |
| Bundle Pricing | Grant access to multiple courses with one product, or use "Spend-based discounts" to make purchasing items together more affordable |
| Installment Payments | Depends on your payment provider: some providers offer installments at checkout; Kanorio does not provide installment plans natively |
Subscription models requiring monthly payments for ongoing access are not currently supported. You can use access durations combined with renewal offers instead—for example, sell a "1-Year Version" and email students an renewal discount before it expires.
For example, $5,000 for the first half of the month, $6,000 for the second half, and $7,000 thereafter:

No need to create a product. Go to the course's "Students" tab, click "Grant access to contacts," and paste their email list. See Students & Access. This is ideal for offline course students, corporate training, and gifts.
Yes. The product type is just a default for shipping requirements. Changing it only affects future checkouts; existing students and orders are unaffected. You can also allow shipping for specific specs while disabling it for others on the same product.
The system automatically grants the most generous access level; no manual merging is required.
Archiving only stops the product from being sold; students who already have access can continue taking the course as usual.
