In Kanorio, courses, ebooks, and material packs are all created in the "Courses" section on the left side of your dashboard. A course is what your students receive after purchase: a course is a tree structure of "Chapters › Lessons", while a download pack is a set of files. Once created, you must link them to a product to sell them; see Linking Products for Sale.
Before you start: Creating and editing courses requires "Manage Store" permissions; uploading course files additionally requires "Manage Media Library" permissions.
Click "Add Course", enter a title, and choose a structure:
| Course | Download Pack | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Video courses, chaptered ebooks, series materials | Ebook files, templates, design assets, exercise files |
| Structure | Yes, up to two levels (Chapter › Lesson) | No, all files listed in a single row |
| Progress & Completion | Yes | No, only download logs are recorded |
| New lesson download enabled by default | No | Yes |
| Student view | Outline on the left, player or reader on the right | File list with a download button next to each file |
Once the structure is created, it cannot be changed because student progress, chapters, and download history are tied to it. If you choose the wrong one, click the "⋯" menu in the list or the top right of the edit page and select "Duplicate". When duplicating, you can choose a different structure: when a course is duplicated as a download pack, chapters are removed, and lessons are arranged in a single list. The copy does not include product links or students.
In the "Content" tab:
Download packs do not have chapters; use the "Add Lesson" button in the top right.
The chapter menu includes actions to apply to the entire chapter at once: show all, set all as preview, allow all downloads, set availability time, and mark the entire chapter as optional or required for completion.
| Type | Content |
|---|---|
| Video、Audio | Upload video or audio files; students watch via the built-in player, which tracks progress |
| Students can view files online using the built-in reader | |
| Files | Files like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPUB, or ZIP that require downloading (remember to enable "Allow download") |
| Text | Write using the built-in editor; supports headings, lists, links, and images |
| Embed | Paste video URLs from YouTube, Vimeo, or Loom |
| Quiz | Generated by the AI assistant; adjust passing scores and attempt limits in lesson settings. See Learning Rules, Quizzes & Certificates |
Each lesson can also have up to 50 attachments, such as handouts or practice files, which students can download on the lesson page.
Click a lesson to open settings, then click "Select File" in the "Content" section. Choose from protected files or upload directly in the picker.
To upload many files at once: Drag files onto a chapter, or click "Upload Files" at the bottom of a chapter to select multiple files. Each file becomes a lesson, and the system automatically determines if it is a video, audio, PDF, or file based on the type. To replace a video with a new version or recover a file from the trash, use the Media Library; see Managing and Replacing Files with the Media Library.
After a video is added to a course lesson, the system automatically converts it to a streaming version: it cuts the video into small segments and prepares multiple quality levels (e.g., a 1080p video will have 1080p, 720p, and 360p versions, up to the original resolution, without upscaling). When a student plays it, the player loads segments based on current network speed, automatically selecting the smoothest quality. This is built into all plans at no extra cost.

What you need to know:
New lessons are drafts by default: students cannot see them, and they don't count toward progress. Once ready, check "Show to students" in the lesson settings, or use "Show all" in the chapter menu.
In the "Settings" tab, fill in the title, description, and cover image:
After changing settings, click "Save" at the bottom of the page.
Describe your course to your AI Assistant to build the whole thing, e.g., "Create a course called React Basics, 3 chapters, 12 lessons, first lesson of chapter 1 is a preview, chapter 3 opens 7 days after enrollment." For batch adjustments later, click "Hand to AI Assistant" in the top right of the edit page and copy the prompt to it. The dashboard and AI edit the same data, and the activity log will note who made the changes. See Connect AI Assistant (MCP) for connection methods.
Next step: Link the course to a product and start selling; see Linking Products for Sale.
That video is a public file used on a website page; adding it to a course would make it public, so the picker only lists protected files. Please upload directly in the lesson settings, or go to the Media Library to toggle the "Protected" switch for that video before selecting it.
The file linked to the lesson has been deleted from the Media Library, or an older lesson was linked to a public file. Please click "Replace file" in the lesson settings to switch to a protected file.
Each course can have up to 500 lessons (including chapters), and each lesson can have up to 50 attachments. If you have a lot of content, you can split it into several courses and open them all at once with one product.
Yes. One product can grant access to multiple courses simultaneously, e.g., a "Full Version" that grants access to both video courses and handout download packs; see Linking Products for Sale.
