Page Search Appearance and Social Sharing
About 10 minBeginner
Overview
Beyond your homepage, every public page on your website—including blog posts, categories/tags/author pages, your store homepage, product pages, and product category pages—has its own independent search and social sharing settings. These fields determine two critical things:
Search Appearance: The blue title and summary text potential customers see when they find your page on Google or Bing.
Social Sharing Appearance: The preview image, title, and description card that appear when you or a visitor shares your page URL on LINE, Facebook, LinkedIn, or X.
All SEO settings for your pages take effect on your live website immediately after you click "Save". You do not need to republish your entire site (provided the site and the specific page have already been published).
Where to Access Page-Level SEO Settings
Regardless of which entry point you use, you are editing the same data. Choose the method that fits your workflow:
Review and Filter All Pages (Recommended): Go to "SEO › Pages" in your dashboard. Use the filters at the top to sort by type (All, Pages, Blog, Store) and status (Needs Attention, Missing Title, Missing Description, Duplicate Title, Noindex, Not Indexed by Google). Click any row to open the editing panel on the right.
Set While Editing Pages: In the website editor's "Pages" list, click the "SEO" button next to any subpage (includes general pages, blog index pages, and legal pages).
Set While Writing Blog Posts or Managing Products: Click "SEO" in the top-right toolbar of the post editor. For products, go to "SEO › Pages," switch to the "Store" category, and click to edit.
Website Homepage: The homepage SEO is accessed via the "SEO › Settings" page by clicking "Edit Homepage SEO" on the first card (clicking the homepage in "SEO › Pages" will also open this same panel).
1. Setting Search Titles, Descriptions, and Keywords
At the top of the panel, you will see a Google Search Preview that simulates how your page will appear in search results as you type:
Search Title (Meta Title)
The search title is the prominent blue text in search results and the name displayed on browser tabs:
Best Practices: Use concise, natural language: "Page Topic/Service + Brand Name" (e.g., Corporate Healthy Meal Box Ordering & Menu | Shiguang Table). Every page should have a unique title; avoid using the same title across multiple pages.
Length: Google truncates search titles based on display width (pixels), not just character count. Generally, we recommend keeping Chinese titles within 10–28 characters (approx. 30–60 characters for English). You don't need to count manually; just watch the status indicator below the preview, which will show "Length is perfect for Google search results" when optimized.
If Left Blank: If you leave the field empty, the system will automatically apply the "Subpage Title Template" from your (default: Page Name | Site Name), so you will never have a blank title.
Search Description (Meta Description)
The search description is the grey summary text below the blue title, used to convince searchers why they should click your page:
Best Practices: Use one or two complete sentences to state what the page offers, who it is for, and what visitors can do (e.g., check prices, book online).
Length: We recommend keeping Chinese descriptions within 30–65 characters (approx. 70–155 characters for English) to ensure they do not get cut off with … in search results.
Keywords and "Primary Keyword"
Enter keywords relevant to your page topic and press Enter to add them (up to 10 per page, 2–30 characters each):
The 1st Keyword is your "Primary Keyword": We recommend placing your most core search term first (e.g., for a service page, set it to Commercial Interior Design).
Purpose of the Primary Keyword: When you use the "AI SEO Planner" below or the , the system will prioritize checking if this primary keyword naturally appears in your search title and the first paragraph of your page content. It also helps you identify if two pages are accidentally competing for the same primary keyword.
2. When You're Stuck: Use "AI SEO Planner"
If you are staring at a blank field or want more compelling copy, use the "AI SEO Planner" directly within the panel.
What Five Fields Does the AI Generate?
The system reads your page's actual module text (or post content), website language, and brand AI memory to generate suggestions for all five fields, automatically checking for length and potential duplication across your site:
Search Title
Search Description
Keywords (up to 10, with the core term automatically placed first as the primary keyword)
Sharing Title (a conversational title optimized for social media)
Sharing Description
Operation Steps and Credits
Ensure your page or post has actual content first (the AI infers key points from existing text; if the page is blank or contains placeholder text, the generated titles will be too generic).
Click "AI SEO Planner" in the page's SEO panel (if previously generated, the button will show "Re-plan with AI").
Once generated, suggestions appear in the "AI Suggestions" card below each field. They will not overwrite your existing text.
Review each field: Click "Apply" to insert the suggestion into the input box (you can still edit it freely after applying), or click "Discard" if you don't need it. After confirming, click "Save" at the bottom of the panel to apply changes immediately.
AI Credit Calculation: Each click of "AI SEO Planner" uses 1 AI credit (this generates all five fields at once, not per field; credits are automatically refunded if generation fails).
Single-Page Planning vs. Bulk Correction: The "AI SEO Planner" in the panel is ideal for fine-tuning individual pages. If you want to fill in missing titles, descriptions, and images for your entire site at once, please use "Let AI Fix Everything" in .
3. Setting Social Sharing Previews (Open Graph & X Cards)
Scroll down to the "Social Sharing" section. This controls the preview card (Open Graph tags) displayed when your URL is shared on LINE, Facebook, Threads, LinkedIn, Discord, or X (formerly Twitter):
Field
Description and Default Inheritance Rules
OG Image
We recommend uploading a clear, landscape-oriented image at 1200 × 630 pixels (approx. 1.91:1 ratio). Please also fill in the "OG Image Description" below for screen readers.
Auto-generate OG Image
Enabled by default. If you do not manually upload an OG image, the system will automatically generate a 1200 × 630 branded title card based on the page title and your site's brand color upon saving or publishing (this auto-generated image does not count against your media library storage).
OG Title
The title shown on social media cards. You can make this more compelling than your search results title; if left blank, it will automatically inherit the "Search Result Title" above.
OG Description
The description shown below the social media card; if left blank, it will automatically inherit the "Search Result Description" above.
X Card Style
Choose the layout for sharing on X: We recommend keeping the default "Summary Card with Large Image (Recommended)" (displays a full-width preview image) or switching to the "Summary Card" with a small square image on the left.
4. URL Paths and Advanced Indexing Control
Modifying Parent Pages, URL Slugs, and Automatic 301 Redirects
For general pages, blog posts, and products, we recommend using short, readable, lowercase English URL paths (e.g., /about, /services) with hyphens (-). You can also click "AI URL Suggestion" next to the field (manually clicking uses 1 AI credit). For general pages, you can select a "Parent Page" at the top (to create nested URLs up to 3 levels deep, e.g., /services/haircut) or specify "Breadcrumb display as subpage of..." in the "Advanced" section at the bottom (this changes the breadcrumb navigation without changing the URL; see ).
Why is there a lock icon on published page URLs?
Once a page is published, the URL path is locked by default to protect links you have already printed on business cards, shared on social media, or that have been indexed by Google. If you truly need to click "Unlock" to modify the URL (or change the parent page), the system will show a confirmation window and automatically set up a 301 permanent redirect from the old URL to the new one (this also updates subpages and does not count against your plan's custom redirect quota; see ). This prevents visitors from hitting 404 errors and transfers accumulated search authority to the new URL.
Allowing Search Engines to Index This Page (Index / Noindex)
In the "Advanced" section at the bottom of the panel, you can control whether this page appears in search results:
On (Default, Allow Index): Allows Google, Bing, and AI search tools to include this page in their search directories.
Off (Noindex, Hide from Search Results): Like a "private room without a sign on Google"—visitors who know the URL or click a link from your site can still browse normally. However, the system adds a noindex tag to the page and automatically removes it from /sitemap.xml and /llms.txt, telling search engines not to list this page.
Best for: Thank-you pages after form submissions, private event pages for VIPs, short-term ad landing pages, or pages still under construction.
Note: Be careful not to accidentally disable indexing for your homepage, main service pages, or top products, as customers will be unable to find them on Google (if you accidentally disable an important page, "SEO › Health Check" will flag it as a severe issue).
Follow Links, Exclude from Site Search, and Canonical URL
Follow Links (Follow / Nofollow): Enabled by default, allowing search engines to follow links on this page to discover others. Keep this enabled for standard public pages.
Exclude from Site Search: Available in the "Advanced" section for homepages, general pages, legal pages, product pages, and blog posts. Once checked and saved, it takes effect immediately (no republishing required). This page will no longer appear in your site's , /search results page, or . This does not affect external search engine indexing (conversely, disabling "Allow Search Engines to Index" only blocks external search engines; site visitors can still find the page via internal search).
Canonical URL: Used to tell search engines which URL is the "master copy" of the content. Kanorio automatically generates a default canonical URL for every page; please leave this blank (the system updates it automatically when you change your custom domain or URL path). Only fill this in if "this page is a full repost from an external website, and you want to return the search ranking authority to the original source URL."
Frequently Asked Questions
There are two common reasons:
Google has not re-crawled yet: Your site's code updates immediately after you click "Save," but Google may take days or weeks to revisit your page and update its search snapshot.
Google dynamically extracts content based on search terms: Even if Google has read your new settings, its algorithm may sometimes automatically extract the most relevant sentence from your page's headings or body text based on the specific keyword the user entered. Therefore, keeping your H1 main heading and first paragraph clear and explicit is just as important as filling out the SEO panel.
Social platforms like LINE and Facebook "cache" (temporarily store) the first URL preview image they fetch on their servers for several days to save bandwidth. They do not re-fetch the image every time someone shares a link. After confirming you have clicked "Save" in the Kanorio panel, wait for the social platform's cache to update naturally, or use tools like the Facebook Sharing Debugger or LINE Page Poker to force a re-fetch.
Yes. Go to "SEO › Pages" and switch the category filter at the top to "Blog" or "Store" to see all published posts, categories, tags, authors, as well as your store homepage, products, and product category pages. Click any row to edit.
