Website Protection and Traffic Statistics
Overview
Kanorio's public website is accelerated and protected by Cloudflare. The "Protection & Traffic" tab displays requests received by the Cloudflare edge network, cache performance, and automatic protection actions.
This report is not a substitute for general visitor behavior analytics. It includes requests for resources like pages and images, and may also include bot and blocked requests, so the numbers will typically be higher than the pageviews in the "Overview" tab.
Where to View
- Open "Analytics".
- Click "Protection & Traffic".
- Select a 7-day, 14-day, 30-day, 90-day, or custom date range.
This tab uses daily aggregated Cloudflare data. The most recent day may take a few hours to appear. It does not support real-time ranges for the last 24 hours.
Four Key Numbers
Suspicious Traffic Blocked
These are suspicious requests that Cloudflare automatically blocked or challenged for additional verification, such as common scans, bots, or unusual access. This does not necessarily mean your site is under a severe attack, but rather that the protection mechanisms are working correctly.
Total Requests
Total requests include all requests made when visitors open pages, load images, download resources, etc. This is not a measure of "how many people visited." For visitor counts, please return to the "Overview" tab.
Cache Hit Ratio
Cloudflare temporarily stores reusable public content at global nodes. A higher cache hit ratio means more requests are served quickly from nearby nodes, eliminating the need to fetch the same content repeatedly.
Bandwidth Saved
Bandwidth saved is the amount of data served by the cache instead of your origin server. It's a reference for speed and efficiency, not a direct traffic credit for your paid plan.
Plain English Explanation of Protection Actions
- Block: Suspicious requests are prevented from reaching the website.
- Managed Challenge: Cloudflare determines if additional checks are needed based on risk signals; most legitimate visitors pass automatically.
- Browser Integrity Check: Requires the browser to complete a basic check before proceeding.
- Human Verification: Requires completion of a more explicit verification step.
These actions are determined automatically by Cloudflare. You do not need to configure rules yourself to receive basic protection.
Why Regional Numbers Differ from Overview
The regional distribution in "Protection & Traffic" shows the origin of requests seen by Cloudflare at the edge network, including both legitimate visitors and automated traffic. The regions in "Overview," however, focus on human visitor behavior on your public website. Therefore, it is normal for the numbers in these two tabs to differ.
Frequently Asked Questions
Not necessarily. Automated scans and bots are common on the internet. An increase in numbers indicates that Cloudflare is taking protective actions. If you also observe unusual website activity, suspicious account logins, or content modifications, please gather evidence and contact support.
Not necessarily. Websites that have just been published or recently updated extensively may have a lower cache hit ratio. This is a performance metric, not a single target you need to manually pursue.
Opening a web page typically loads the HTML, images, fonts, and other resources simultaneously. Therefore, one visitor's single page view can generate multiple requests.
