Overview

Once your website is live, the most important step is to tell Google: “My website is ready, and here is a list of my pages.”

Google Search Console (GSC) is the official free tool provided by Google for site owners. With Kanorio, you don't need to manually request verification codes or copy-paste Sitemap URLs. With a one-click connection, the system automatically handles three things for you:

Automatic Site Ownership Verification: Automatically writes a verification tag to your public website and passes Google's check.
Automatic Sitemap Submission and Maintenance: Ensures Google receives your public pages, blog posts, and product catalog immediately. The /sitemap.xml is updated automatically as you add content, and Google will periodically revisit it.
Direct Integration of Google Search Data: No need to open the official Google Search Console dashboard separately. You can view search impressions, clicks, keywords, and indexing status directly within “SEO › Overview”.

Before You Start

Your website must be live: Google needs to be able to crawl your public homepage to complete verification. Websites that are not yet published or are currently offline cannot be verified (the button will remain disabled, prompting you to publish your site first).
Have a Google account ready: We recommend using a Google account that you or your company manages long-term for authorization.

Recommended Method: One-Click Google Search Console Connection

Go to “SEO › Settings” under the “Content” group in your dashboard (or click the guide button in the success prompt after publishing your site for the first time).
On the “Connect Google Search Engine” card, click “Submit your website information to Google” (this button initiates the connection immediately; no need to click save at the bottom of the page).
Log in to your Google account in the pop-up window and be sure to grant “All” permissions (if you only grant partial permissions, the system will be unable to verify ownership or submit the Sitemap on your behalf).
After being redirected back to Kanorio, the system will automatically write the verification tag in the background, verify ownership with Google, and submit your /sitemap.xml. Once complete, a green “Sitemap submitted” status dot will appear in the top-right corner of the card.

What if the screen shows “Automatically verifying and submitting Sitemap…” or “Connected, pending verification”? The newly written verification tag may take a few seconds to propagate through global network caches. The system will continue to retry in the background until verification and submission are complete. You can also wait a few minutes and click “Resubmit to Google” on the card.

What can you see and do on the card after a successful connection?

Once connected and verified, the “Connect Google Search Engine” card will display:

Google Account: Shows the email address of the currently connected Google account.
Last Sitemap Submission: Shows the relative time of the last successful Sitemap submission (e.g., “5 minutes ago”). There is a “Resubmit Sitemap” refresh icon button on the right. You don't need to click this for daily page or post additions. If you have just completed a major site overhaul and want Google to re-crawl the entire Sitemap as soon as possible, you can click it.
Change Google Account / Disconnect: Located in the bottom-right corner of the card. If you choose “Disconnect,” the system will stop submitting the Sitemap on your behalf and clear the Search Console historical data and indexing status records stored in the Kanorio dashboard (reconnecting later will restore the last 16 months of data).

Resubmission After Binding or Switching to a “Custom Domain”

When you bind and switch from a free subdomain (e.g., xxx.kanorio.com) to a custom domain (e.g., yourbrand.com), a yellow prompt will appear in “SEO › Overview” and “SEO › Settings”: “Domain changed, please resubmit”.

Simply click the “Resubmit to Google” button:

The system will automatically complete ownership verification and submit a new Sitemap for your new domain.
Historical search data from the old domain will not be lost: Kanorio will retain the historical search data accumulated during your time on the free subdomain and seamlessly integrate it with the new domain's data (overlapping dates will automatically prioritize the new domain to avoid double-counting).

Alternative Method: Manual Verification via HTML Tag

If you prefer not to use one-click Google account authorization due to company policy, you can manually add the property in the official Google Search Console dashboard:

Add a “URL prefix” property in Google Search Console, expand the “HTML tag” verification method, and copy the <meta name="google-site-verification" content="..."> tag (or just the verification code inside the content quotes).
Go to Kanorio “SEO › Settings” and click “Verify via HTML tag” below the “Connect Google Search Engine” card.
Paste the entire HTML tag into the input box (when the cursor leaves the field, the system will automatically extract the verification code string for you; no need to manually trim it).
Click the “Save” bar at the bottom of the screen (this takes effect on your public site immediately; no need to republish).
Wait about 1 to 5 minutes, then return to Google Search Console and click verify.

Note: When using manual HTML tag verification, Kanorio does not have Google authorization, so it cannot automatically submit the Sitemap, nor can it display search data and indexing status in “SEO › Overview.” We strongly recommend using the one-click connection method above.
