Accepting Payments with JKO Pay
JKO Pay is a mobile payment tool: buyers confirm payments using the JKO Pay app (or web-based payment flow) on their phones, eliminating the need to enter full credit card numbers on your website. Unlike "integrated payment services" such as Stripe or PAYUNi, JKO Pay only handles its own payment method and does not provide additional tools like ATM transfers or convenience store codes.
JKO Pay offers various products, including "In-store QR Code Payments" and "OnlinePay." Kanorio requires OnlinePay. Once approved, you will receive a Store ID, API Key, and Secret Key, which you can then enable in your dashboard. Buyers will see the product and amount on the Kanorio checkout confirmation page before proceeding to JKO Pay to complete the payment.
Who is this for?
- Sellers primarily serving buyers in Taiwan who wish to offer JKO Pay as a payment option.
- Sellers who have already applied for and been approved for JKO Pay OnlinePay and possess a Store ID, API Key, and Secret Key.
- Sellers who do not yet have a JKO Pay online payment account and are preparing to submit an application.
JKO Pay currently only supports New Taiwan Dollar (TWD). Both individual and corporate accounts can apply (consistent with the dashboard instructions). Some third-party channels may be limited to corporate accounts; please refer to JKO Pay and your specific application channel for details.
How to Enable
Go to "Store → Settings" in your dashboard, select the JKO Pay card, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Option 1: Already have credentials? Enable directly
If you have already been approved for JKO Pay OnlinePay and have obtained your Store ID, API Key, and Secret Key:
- Select "Already approved by JKO Pay? Enable directly" on the JKO Pay card.
- Enter your API Key, Secret Key, and Store ID.
- Kanorio will verify the credentials; once verified, you can start accepting payments.
These are sensitive credentials. Please do not send them to customer support via chat or email; only enter them in the secure form within your dashboard.
Option 2: Apply for JKO Pay (Coming Soon)
One-click application within Kanorio is coming soon. If you click "Apply for JKO Pay," the system will notify you that the feature is currently in development.
In the meantime, you can apply for OnlinePay directly through JKO Pay. The review and activation process is handled by JKO Pay. Once approved and you have your credentials, return to Kanorio and use "Enable directly" to complete the integration.
Please ensure you are applying for OnlinePay, not just in-store QR code/standee payments. Kanorio cannot use in-store merchant IDs as a substitute for OnlinePay credentials.
Application Review: Preparation
Prepare the necessary documents based on your status as a company, sole proprietorship, or individual. The detailed list varies depending on JKO Pay's current regulations and your application channel. Below are items frequently mentioned in official merchant guides and common platform tutorials for your reference:
| Applicant Status | Commonly Required Documents |
|---|---|
| Company/Legal Entity | Latest Company Registration/Change Certificate (official letters are not accepted), front and back of the person-in-charge's ID, copy of company bank account passbook |
| Sole Proprietorship | Business Registration Transcript (or tax registration data + commercial/financial public inquiry), front and back of the person-in-charge's ID, copy of passbook |
| Individual (No Tax ID) | Contract or application form, front and back of personal ID, copy of personal TWD bank account passbook |
Before submitting, please ensure:
- Your public website has products listed and is fully browsable (online payment reviews often check this).
- Registration certificates, IDs, and passbooks are the latest versions, clear, complete, and not cropped.
- The bank account name matches the registered applicant's name; corporate accounts must use the company's name.
- If selling prepaid or deferred-delivery products (e.g., appointment services), JKO Pay may require performance bonds. Common industry advice: if the deferred product amount is high or the prepayment period is long, consult JKO Pay. Always follow the latest official regulations.
Tips for Increasing Approval Rates
- Use the latest version of registration documents and upload complete pages to avoid missing sections.
- Ensure the company address matches the registered address; the person-in-charge's contact address should match the registered household address on the back of their ID (including district/neighborhood).
- Use a company-name physical bank account for corporate accounts; avoid pure online banks/digital accounts (a common reason for rejection).
- Website content should clearly show what you sell, the prices, and how to contact you.
- If you already have an in-store JKO Pay partnership, inform your account manager when applying for online or new Store IDs to avoid account conflicts.
- Respond to review or document resubmission emails promptly; do not just wait.
Common Reasons for Rejection or Resubmission
| Situation | Possible Reason | What You Can Do |
|---|---|---|
| Missing/Unclear Documents | Missing pages, cropped, expired, or non-latest registration forms | Resubmit with the latest complete copies based on official/manager checklists |
| Account Rejected | Using personal passbook for corporate account, digital account, name mismatch | Resubmit with a TWD bank passbook that matches the applicant status |
| Address/Data Mismatch | Business address doesn't match registration, ID address mismatch | Re-enter data to align with registration and ID documents |
| Insufficient Store Info | Website inaccessible, no products, missing contact info | Update public site info before resubmitting |
| Deferred Product Issues | High prepayment or long-term delivery without performance bonds | Provide bonds or adjust product terms as requested by JKO Pay |
| Late Resubmission | Email not replied to | Reply within the notification deadline; contact JKO Pay support (see sources below) |
Approval, required documents, and activation timelines are subject to JKO Pay's notification. Common industry estimates range from a few working days to 1–2 weeks (longer during peak seasons); do not treat these as guaranteed timelines. Once approved and you have your OnlinePay credentials, return to Kanorio to "Enable directly."

How Do Buyers Pay?
- Buyers select a product plan on your public website and enter their contact email (no login required before payment).
- They proceed to the Kanorio checkout confirmation page to verify the product and amount.
- They proceed to JKO Pay to complete the payment (usually within the JKO Pay app or via a web flow directed by JKO Pay).
- After successful payment, logged-in buyers can view their purchase in "My Purchases"; guest buyers can claim content by logging in with the same email.
Fees
JKO Pay's payment processing fee (Kanorio channel discount, tax-inclusive) is:
| Account Type | Transaction Fee Rate |
|---|---|
| Individual | 2.5% (tax-inclusive) |
| Corporate | 2.2% (tax-inclusive) |
These fees are collected directly by JKO Pay; Kanorio does not handle them. The terms shown in your dashboard are the rates applicable when applying/enabling via Kanorio; please refer to the dashboard for details. Public rates on the JKO Pay merchant site may differ from channel discounts; do not assume you have been overcharged based on public pricing.
Additionally, Kanorio charges a transaction fee based on your subscription plan (this is a separate fee from the payment processing fee). For full details, please read: Fees and Exchange Rates.
Refunds
- Refunds can be initiated via the Kanorio dashboard within 180 days of payment.
- Full refunds and partial refunds are supported.
- For orders using JKO Pay vouchers, JKO Pay usually only accepts full refunds.
- Kanorio transaction fee refund rules are consistent with other payment methods; see Refund Processing.
Receiving JKO Pay via Kanorio vs. PAYUNi
Both allow buyers to use JKO Pay, but the application, checkout page, and account settings differ:
| Method | Who Provides Checkout Page | What You Need to Apply For |
|---|---|---|
| Enable JKO Pay in Kanorio | Kanorio Checkout Page → JKO Pay | JKO Pay OnlinePay Account & API Credentials |
| Use JKO Pay in PAYUNi | PAYUNi Payment Flow | PAYUNi Account, then enable JKO Pay in PAYUNi |
If you already use PAYUNi and have enabled JKO Pay there, you usually do not need to enable a direct connection. If you only want to accept JKO Pay and do not wish to use an integrated payment service, direct enablement in Kanorio is suitable. For more details, see: Accepting Payments with PAYUNi.
