Accept Payments with Stripe Connect
Stripe Connect is Stripe's payment service for platform sellers. It allows you to accept credit card payments through Kanorio, with payment details, identity verification, and payout processes handled securely by Stripe.
You don't need to write APIs or add credit card fields to your own website. Buyers will proceed from your product page to a Stripe-managed payment page, and then return to Kanorio after completing their payment.
Who is it for?
Stripe Connect is suitable for:
- Your business is located in a country or region supported by Stripe.
- Your buyers primarily use international credit cards for payments.
- You want to set product prices in multiple currencies.
Stripe's supported business countries and regions are continuously updated. Before applying, please check Stripe Global Availability and refer to the countries available in the Kanorio setup screen.
Preparation Before Setup
Stripe requires information based on your business location, account type, and regulatory requirements. Please prepare the following:
- A bank account that can receive payouts.
- Your real name, contact information, and address.
- Government-issued identification documents.
- Company or business information and tax identification details (if applicable).
- A live website with clear product descriptions.
Ensure that the name, address, and bank account details you provide are consistent. Inconsistent information may lead Stripe to request additional documents or temporarily restrict your ability to receive payments.
Setting Up Stripe Connect in Kanorio
1. Go to Payout Accounts
After logging into Kanorio, select the website you want to open a store on, and navigate to "Store → Payout Accounts" in the backend.
2. Select Stripe Connect
Choose Stripe Connect, confirm the preparation checklist, and select your business country or region.
3. Complete Information on Stripe's Page
Kanorio will redirect you to Stripe's hosted onboarding page. Enter your personal or company details, bank account information, and required documents as prompted. Stripe collects this sensitive data, and Kanorio does not store your complete identification documents or bank account numbers.
4. Return to Kanorio to Confirm Status
Once completed, return to Kanorio. If your account status is "Ready to receive payments," you can start checkout for paid products. If it shows "Action Required," please restart the Stripe setup process from the account page.
What Do Account Statuses Mean?
| Status | Plain Explanation | What You Can Do |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Application started, but some information is missing | Return to the Stripe onboarding page to continue filling it out |
| Under Review | Stripe is currently reviewing your information | Wait for Stripe's notification; do not resubmit your application |
| Enabled | You can accept payments | Create products and publish sales pages |
| Restricted | Stripe needs more information or has temporarily limited functionality | Follow the instructions in Stripe's email or on your account page to provide the required information |
What Will Buyers See?
- Buyers select a product plan on your website.
- Buyers log in to their Kanorio account to view their purchases later under "My Purchases."
- The system redirects buyers to Stripe Checkout to enter their payment details.
- After successful payment on Stripe, buyers are returned to the "My Purchases" page on Kanorio.
How Are Fees Handled?
Stripe's payment processing fees and Kanorio's platform fees are separate. When using Stripe Connect, Kanorio's platform fees are processed together by Stripe for each transaction. You do not need to set up a separate monthly payment method for these platform fees.
Stripe rates, card type fees, and currency conversion fees vary by country. Please refer to Stripe's official pricing and your Stripe account dashboard for details. For a complete explanation, read: Fees and Exchange Rates.
