Accept Payments with PAYUNi Unified Gateway
PAYUNi Unified Gateway is a third-party payment service in Taiwan. It integrates payment methods such as credit cards, ATM transfers, convenience store code payments, and some mobile payments into a single payment page, making it suitable for Taiwanese sellers selling digital goods in New Taiwan Dollars.
Kanorio uses an agent application model for PAYUNi. In simple terms, you don't need to research APIs yourself, create integration keys, or paste Hash Keys into Kanorio. When PAYUNi is enabled for your account, you can fill in the required information on Kanorio's payment account page and submit it for review.
PAYUNi is currently in the public beta preparation phase for Kanorio. If you do not see the PAYUNi application option on your "Store → Payment Accounts" page, it means it has not yet been enabled for your account. Please do not use non-Kanorio processes to manually enter integration keys.
Scope of Application
- Seller Location: Taiwan.
- Checkout Currency: New Taiwan Dollar (TWD).
- Product Type: Kanorio's current digital goods and sponsorships, excluding logistics and physical product delivery.
Individual and Business Sellers
PAYUNi will require different information depending on whether you apply as an individual or a business. Kanorio's application form will display the necessary fields based on your selection.
| Application Status | |----------|----------| | Individual Seller | Real Name, ID Number, Contact Phone, Email, Store Information, and Payment Details | | Business Seller | Company or Business Name, Unified Business Number, Responsible Person's Information, Contact Information, Store Information, and Payment Details |
PAYUNi's official fee page currently lists the transaction limits for the past 30 days: NT$200,000 for individual sellers and NT$1,000,000 for business sellers. Limits, documentation, and approval criteria may be adjusted. Please refer to the PAYUNi Official Fee Page and your actual application results for the most up-to-date information.
Prepare Your Website Before Applying
Payment gateway services need to understand what you are selling and how buyers can contact you. Before submitting your application, please ensure your public website clearly displays:
- Product or sponsorship details, pricing, and delivery methods.
- Store name, contact email, or phone number.
- Refund, cancellation, or terms of use policies.
- Website URL and accessible sales pages.
Incomplete information, unclear product details, or an inaccessible website may lead to requests for additional documentation during the review process.
Steps to Apply within Kanorio
1. Open the PAYUNi Application Form
Navigate to "Store → Payment Accounts" in your backend and select PAYUNi. If the option is not visible, it means the feature has not yet been enabled for your account.
2. Select Application Status and Fill in Details
Based on whether you are an individual or business seller, fill in your identity, contact person, store name, English store name, website URL, address, and product description. Ensure the information matches your identification documents and bank account details.
3. Submit for PAYUNi Review
Kanorio will forward the necessary store information to PAYUNi's agent application process. After submission, your account will be marked as "Under Review" and will not be able to accept payments yet.
4. Await Review Results
Once PAYUNi approves your application, Kanorio will update your payment account to "Active." If additional information is required or the application is not approved, please make the necessary corrections based on the reasons provided in the backend or notifications, and resubmit.
Kanorio estimates an approval time of approximately 3 business days for the application interface. The actual timeline is determined by PAYUNi.
What Payment Methods Can Buyers Use?
The actual available payment methods through PAYUNi depend on your approval status and PAYUNi account status. Kanorio's initial application includes the following payment method applications:
| Type | |--------------|----------| | Credit Card | Domestic Cards, International Cards, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay | Buyers enter card details on the PAYUNi page or authorize via their device wallet | | Credit Card Installments | 3, 6, 9 installments | Buyers can pay in installments; availability depends on approval and issuing bank rules | | Offline Payment | ATM, Convenience Store Code | The system provides payment information, and buyers complete the transfer or payment within the deadline |
Payment tools like LINE Pay, JKOPAY, and AFTEE are managed by PAYUNi but are not guaranteed to be enabled during the initial application. If you wish to offer these methods, please follow the application and review process displayed in your PAYUNi account.
How to Understand Fees?
PAYUNi charges processing fees based on the payment method, and Kanorio charges platform fees based on your website plan. These are separate fees.
Kanorio's current PAYUNi application setup will display corresponding rates in the backend, with different calculations for domestic credit cards, ATMs, and convenience store codes. PAYUNi also updates its fee information on its official website. Please refer to the PAYUNi Official Fee Page, the rates displayed in the backend at the time of your submission, and your approval results.
PAYUNi will disburse transaction funds to you according to its rules. Kanorio's platform fees are settled monthly. If your effective platform fee rate is greater than 0, Kanorio will require you to set up a credit card for monthly deductions. For detailed calculations, please read: Fees and Exchange Rates.
