Checkout Flow: How Buyers Purchase
Understanding the screens buyers go through can help you better design your sales pages, answer customer questions, and more quickly identify the cause of payment failures.
Kanorio does not currently have a shopping cart. Buyers select a plan and quantity from a single product sales module at a time, and then proceed directly to the checkout flow for that product.
The Buyer's Purchase Process
- Review Product Information: Buyers see the product description, plans, and pricing on your public website.
- Select a Plan: Buyers choose a fixed-price plan or enter a custom amount if you've enabled the supporter feature.
- Log in to Kanorio: Buyers need to log in or create a Kanorio account so the system can securely place purchased content in "My Purchases."
- Proceed to Payment Page: Based on your payout account, the system directs the buyer to the Stripe or PAYUNi payment page.
- Complete Payment: The payment gateway confirms the payment result.
- Receive Content: After successful payment, buyers return to "My Purchases" to view their purchased digital content.
Why Do Buyers Need to Log In?
Kanorio ties purchased content to the buyer's account rather than sending out download links that can be freely forwarded. This allows buyers to log in later to view their purchase history, and enables sellers to revoke access for specific orders from order management if necessary.
If buyers are prompted to log in after selecting a plan, the system will attempt to return them to the original purchase flow upon successful login. To prevent tampering with payment amounts, custom amounts may require reconfirmation from the buyer.
Payment Experience with Different Gateways
Stripe Connect
Buyers will leave your public page and go to the Stripe-managed Checkout page to enter or confirm payment details. After successful payment, Stripe will redirect the buyer back to Kanorio. For complete Stripe Connect application and setup, please read: Accept Payments with Stripe Connect.
PAYUNi Unified Payment Gateway
Buyers will be directed to the PAYUNi payment page. Available payment methods depend on the tools your seller has enabled and approved, such as credit cards, ATM transfers, or convenience store codes. After selection, buyers complete the payment according to the on-screen instructions. For complete PAYUNi application and setup, please read: Accept Payments with PAYUNi.
Free Plans
Plans with a fixed price of 0 do not require a payment gateway account. After logging in, the system will directly create a free purchase record and grant access to the content.
Future Checkout Experience with Digital Wallets
Kanorio is planning direct integration with digital wallets. In the future, buyers will first review the product and amount on Kanorio's checkout confirmation page, then proceed to their wallet app to authorize payment. This feature is not yet available; please refer to updates on Accept Payments with LINE Pay.
When Checkout Fails, What Should You Check First?
| What the Buyer Sees | Possible Cause | Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
| Cannot click or displays "Currently unavailable for purchase" | Product is archived, plan is not published, or seller has not completed payout setup | Check product status, plan status, and payout account |
| Payment page cannot be opened | Payout account not enabled, product currency not supported by the gateway, or temporary connection issue | Confirm account status and product currency, then retry |
| Content not received after ATM/convenience store payment | Buyer has not completed payment, or the gateway has not yet returned the payment result | Ask the buyer to confirm payment status and wait, then check "My Purchases" |
| Not returned to the original flow after logging in | Browser is blocking cookies, link has expired, or a different device was used to reopen | Return to the product page, reselect the plan, and checkout again |
