Kanorio is preparing to offer domain purchasing and management features, allowing you to search for URLs, complete registrations, assign websites, and manage renewals all in one place.

Can I Buy a Domain on Kanorio Now?

Currently, you can view name and price information in the "Shop for a Domain" section, but purchasing and checkout on Kanorio are not yet available. When you click to buy, a prompt will appear indicating that the feature will be available soon.

If you need a branded URL immediately, don't wait for this feature:

1. First, purchase a domain from a trusted external domain registrar.
2. Complete the DNS setup by following Connecting an Existing Domain.
3. Wait for your custom domain to show "Active" in Kanorio.

This allows you to use your own URL right away without affecting your ability to manage website content on Kanorio later.

A domain is a portable brand asset. You can choose where to buy based on what matters most to you:

How Will Kanorio Disclose Pricing?

Kanorio does not aim to profit primarily from selling domains. Once the feature is live, we will strive to keep domain prices close to cost and clearly list the following before payment:

• First-year price.
• Subsequent annual renewal prices.
• Number of years purchased and total amount.

Costs vary depending on domain type, currency, and renewal terms, so we do not commit to "the lowest price on the market." You can review the amounts clearly before deciding to purchase.

For Price-Sensitive Buyers, Compare with Cloudflare

If registration and renewal prices are your main concern, compare them at Cloudflare Registrar. Cloudflare openly states that they charge based on the costs incurred by the registry and ICANN (the non-profit organization coordinating global domain names), with no additional markup. Please confirm that your desired domain type is supported and compare current first-year and renewal prices before purchasing.

Even if you purchase from Cloudflare or another registrar, you can still connect your domain to Kanorio by following Connecting an Existing Domain.

What Are the Benefits of Buying a Domain on Kanorio When the Feature Launches?

Once live, you'll be able to search for and register domains directly within Kanorio's "Shop for a Domain" section. New domains will be added to My Domains, and Kanorio will assist with essential DNS and SSL certificate setup for your website.

This path is suitable if:

• You don't have a domain yet and want to minimize switching between services.
• You're unfamiliar with DNS and prefer not to add website records yourself.
• You want to see expiration dates, auto-renewal status, and website assignment status within a single management interface.

Even when purchased through Kanorio, your domain remains your brand asset. Please register using your real contact information that can receive emails, and be mindful of renewal, payment methods, and transfer rights.

Expected Workflow After Feature Launch

The following outlines the operational logic once the feature is enabled. Please refer to the actual screen for button labels and available domain types.

1. Search for Your Desired Domain

Open "Shop for a Domain" and enter your brand name or full URL, e.g., yourbrand.com.

The system will check if the name is available for registration and display related available domains. Seeing "Available" does not mean it's reserved for you; others may register the name before your payment is complete.

2. Review First-Year and Renewal Prices Carefully

First-year domain prices and subsequent renewal prices may differ. Before checking out, please confirm:

• The displayed currency and total amount.
• The number of years you are purchasing.
• Whether the first-year price differs from the renewal price.
• The approximate price for the next renewal.

Domain prices fluctuate based on factors like domain type, registrar, and exchange rates, so the amount displayed at checkout is final.

3. Complete Payment and Registration Information with Stripe

Once launched, Kanorio will use Stripe for checkout. To complete domain registration, you'll need to provide accurate contact information, such as your name, address, phone number, and email, during checkout.

This is not standard website form data; it's domain registrant information. Use an email address you can access long-term, as domain transfer authorization codes and important notifications may be sent there.

4. Wait for Registration to Complete

After successful payment, the system will complete the registration with the domain registry and add the domain to My Domains. Registration and DNS propagation can take time; do not print your new URL on mass materials until the domain status appears normal.

5. Assign to a Website

You can select the website to which you want to assign the domain from My Domains. After assignment, the domain will be added to the website's custom domain list. If the website doesn't have a primary domain yet, the new domain will become primary; otherwise, it will become a secondary domain, redirecting to the existing primary URL.

You must own or have administrative privileges for a website to assign a domain to it. Domains and websites are separate assets: purchasing a domain does not automatically create a website, nor does creating a website automatically cancel domain renewal.

DNS and SSL Handling After Feature Launch

If Kanorio hosts your domain's DNS, the system will prepare the necessary basic records for your website:

• Website pointing for the root domain.
• Basic DNS records for the www URL; if you also want the www URL to open your website, you'll still need to add it to your custom domain list.
• Records required for verifying and issuing an SSL certificate.

DNS is the configuration that directs URLs to the correct website. An SSL certificate is what enables the padlock icon and encrypts data transmission between visitors and your website. The system will handle these settings automatically; no separate purchase is needed.

Essential DNS records assigned to a website will appear locked to prevent accidental deletion that could cause your website or SSL certificate to become invalid. You can still add your own A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, or MX records for purposes like setting up company email or third-party service verification, but please do not remove the system-locked website records.

Managing Your Purchased Domain

Once the feature is live, view and manage the following from My Domains:

• The domain's current status and expiration date.
• Which website it's assigned to.
• Whether auto-renewal is enabled.
• DNS records and nameserver settings.
• Renewal transaction history and available payment receipts.
• The process for locking and unlocking domain transfers, and obtaining authorization codes.

Auto-Renewal

Auto-renewal is enabled by default for newly purchased domains. This is to reduce the risk of your URL expiring and being registered by someone else if you forget to renew.

If you disable auto-renewal, you are responsible for manually renewing before the expiration date. Disabling auto-renewal does not cancel the domain immediately; it only means the system will not automatically attempt to charge you for renewal upon expiration.

Domain Transfer

You can transfer your purchased domain to another registrar. According to domain transfer rules, newly registered domains typically have a 60-day transfer lock period. After this period ends, you can unlock the transfer and request an authorization code from My Domains, then initiate the transfer with the new registrar.

The authorization code will be sent to the registrant's email address. If you can no longer access that email, please address registrant information and account access issues first.

Can I Use My Purchased Domain for Email?

Yes, but websites and email are separate services.

If you want to use hello@yourbrand.com, you still need to subscribe to an email service provider and add MX, SPF, DKIM, and other mail records as instructed. The A or CNAME records required for your website will not automatically create an email inbox, nor should they overwrite existing mail records.

• Before purchasing, confirm if your brand name might change; domains typically cannot be renamed directly after registration.
• Choose your primary domain carefully first, then consider purchasing other misspellings, country codes, or common variations for brand protection.
• Don't focus solely on the first-year promotional price; renewal prices and expiration dates are equally important.
• Use a long-term accessible email address for registration; avoid using temporary or event-specific email accounts.
• If you've already purchased a domain elsewhere, you don't need to wait for the platform's purchasing feature; simply connect your existing domain.
