If you don't have a brand domain yet, you can go directly to the "Buy a Domain" section in your dashboard to search for your preferred name and register it. Upon checkout, the system automatically sets up your cloud DNS, configures www redirection, assigns an HTTPS security certificate, and links the domain to your website—saving you the hassle of manually copying and pasting DNS records across different platforms.

If you have already purchased a domain from another registrar (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare), there is no need to purchase it again. Please refer to instead.

Transparent Pricing: Clear First-Year and Renewal Rates

Many domain platforms attract buyers with extremely low first-year promotional prices, only to significantly increase the cost upon renewal. Kanorio does not profit from domain sales—we keep our pricing close to the wholesale cost from the upstream registry plus payment processing fees, and we clearly disclose the following before checkout:

• The first-year registration price and the total amount for the selected number of years.
• The annual renewal price thereafter (displayed below the total as "Annual renewal fee from year N").
• Registration and renewal fees for all available top-level domains (e.g., .com, .co, .io, .ai, .shop) are always available for public viewing in our .

8 Benefits and Security Protections with Kanorio Domains

Every domain purchased through Kanorio comes with the following infrastructure-level protections by default, with no extra purchase required:

1. 100% Ownership (No Domain Proxying) Domains are registered with international management bodies using the real information you provide, making them your personal brand assets (stored under "Subscription & Billing > Domains" in your account). Even if you change your assigned website, downgrade, or delete your site, your domain ownership remains fully under your account.
2. Free WHOIS Privacy Protection (Anti-Spam and Data Leak Prevention) Without privacy protection, your name, phone number, address, and email would be public in the international WHOIS directory, often leading to spam and scam calls immediately after registration. Kanorio provides free, default-enabled WHOIS privacy protection for all supported domain types, automatically masking your personal contact details in public directories.
3. Default "Transfer Lock" Enabled A registrar transfer lock is automatically enabled upon registration, preventing unauthorized transfers to other platforms. You must manually unlock it from your dashboard to request an authorization code.
4. 5 Steps to Buy a Domain on Kanorio

1. Search for a Domain and View AI Recommendations

Go to "Buy a Domain", enter your desired brand name (e.g., mellowcoffee.com), or click on the AI-generated suggestions based on your site name. The system will instantly list available domains and common extensions (e.g., .com, .co, .io, .shop) prioritized by your location.

Note: A "Available" status does not mean the domain is reserved for you. Until payment is completed, others globally may still register the name.

2. Select Registration Duration and Confirm Price

Click on the domain you want to open the purchase panel:

• Choose the registration duration (1 to 10 years; some top-level domains like .ai require a minimum of 2 years per registry rules).
• Confirm the currency, first-year price, total amount, and the future annual (or periodic) renewal price indicated below the total.

3. Enter "Domain Registrant Information" in English

To register the domain in your name, please fill out the contact form (Name, Company (optional), Email, Country, Phone, Address, City, State/Province, Zip Code):

• Must be filled in English (alphanumeric characters, Romanized alphabet): International WHOIS systems only accept standard ASCII characters. Non-English characters or full-width symbols will be blocked. You can use your passport name and a translated address (e.g., Jordan Lee, Singapore).
• Use a reliable, long-term Email: Verification emails, expiration reminders, and future transfer codes will be sent to this address.
• For some country-specific domains requiring manual review, the form will indicate that registration may take 1–3 business days and may require additional documentation.

4. Assign to a Website and Complete Secure Checkout

• If your selected website is already on a Pro or Business plan (with site management permissions), the panel will show "The domain will be assigned to 'Your Website Name' after payment," and it will link automatically.
• If you want to purchase the domain first or your site is on the Free plan, the domain will be saved in "Subscription & Billing > Domains" and can be assigned at any time.
• Click "Buy Domain" to complete payment via Stripe. Receipts and invoices can be downloaded anytime from "Account Settings > Subscription & Billing".

5. Important: Complete Registrant Email Verification (ICANN Rule)

For most international domains (e.g., .com, .net, .org), ICANN regulations require the registrar to send an English-only verification email to your provided address within 15 days:

• Subject line contains: VERIFICATION REQUIRED
• What to do: Open the email and click the verification link to confirm your contact email is valid.
• What if you didn't receive it or forgot to click? Before verification is complete, a banner will appear at the top of your Kanorio dashboard. You can click "Resend Verification Email" and check your inbox (including spam) for VERIFICATION REQUIRED. If not verified within 15 days, the registry will temporarily suspend domain resolution (the site will be unreachable), but it will recover immediately once you click the link.

Managing Your Purchased Domain: Assignment, DNS, and Nameservers

Go to the "Domains" section under "Subscription & Billing" and click any domain to open the "Domain Management" panel (if assigned to a site, site owners can also access this via "Site Settings > Domains" by clicking the "..." next to the domain).

1. Assign, Switch, or Unassign a Website

In the "Assign Website" dropdown at the top of the panel:

• Assign the domain to any paid plan site you manage (if the site has no primary domain, this will become the primary; if it already has one, this will become a secondary domain with a 301 redirect).
• To switch the domain to another site, select the new site and click "Save Changes" at the bottom right.
• To unassign, select "Unassigned" and save.

2. Manage DNS Records (System-Locked vs. Custom Records)

In the default Kanorio automatic management mode, expand the "DNS Records" section to view and edit:

• Locked System Records (Cannot be modified or deleted):
  • Marked "Kanorio Setup": Root domain @ and www records ensuring your site and SSL always work.
  • Marked "For sending, managed by Kanorio": SPF/DKIM records added automatically when you enable a custom sending domain in .
• Add Your Own DNS Records: Click "Add Record" to add up to 100 A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, or MX (priority 0–65535) records, such as for Google Workspace/Microsoft 365, subdomains (e.g., erp.yourbrand.com), or third-party verification. Remember to click "Save Changes" after editing.

3. Switch Nameservers (Default Automatic vs. Custom Nameservers)

Nameservers determine which platform manages the domain's DNS phonebook:

• Default Mode (Managed by Kanorio): Do not select custom nameservers. Kanorio maintains site connectivity, www redirects, SSL certificates, and sending domain records, with DNS editable directly in the panel.
• Use Custom Nameservers (Managed by External Platform): If you have specific architectural needs, expand the "Nameservers" section, check "Use Custom Nameservers", and enter 2 to 4 valid hostnames (e.g., ns1.example.com), then click "Save Changes".

Important Before Switching to Custom Nameservers:

1. Website assignment will be canceled, and the site will stop loading via this domain: Kanorio no longer controls the DNS. To link back to your site, you must manually set a CNAME pointing to saas.kanorio.com at your new DNS provider and re-add the domain as an external domain in your site's "Custom Domains" list.
2. Kanorio-managed sending domain records will be removed: If used for site emails, please manually re-add SPF/DKIM records at your new DNS provider, or newsletters and form confirmations will stop sending.
3. Switch back anytime: To return to Kanorio management, simply uncheck "Use Custom Nameservers" and save. The system will revert to Kanorio nameservers and rebuild basic DNS (please re-assign your website afterward).

Renewal, Grace Periods, and Recovery

Automatic Renewal

To prevent site downtime or domain squatting, "Auto-Renew" is enabled by default for new domains:

• Billing Timing: The system automatically charges via Stripe 14 days before expiration (most domains renew for 1 year; some like .ai renew for 2 years per registry rules). Renewal notices are sent 14–30 days prior.
• Renewal Price Protection: If the upstream registry increases renewal fees, we will notify you via email of the new amount at least 7 days before charging. We never charge a higher price without notice.
• Change Credit Card, Renew Early, or Disable Auto-Renew: In the "Renewal" section of the "Domain Management" panel:
  • Click "Manage Payment Method" to update your credit card via Stripe.
  • Click "Renew Now" to manually extend registration.
  • To disable auto-renew, uncheck "Auto-Renew" and click "Save Changes" (please do so before the auto-charge date 14 days prior; the domain remains active until the expiration date).

What if you forget to renew? 3 Stages After Expiration

If auto-renew is disabled or payment fails, the domain enters three stages based on the number of days past expiration:

Transferring Out to Another Registrar

Your domain is your asset, and you can transfer it to any registrar.

60-Day New Registration Transfer Protection

Per ICANN policy, domains registered within the last 60 days cannot be transferred (the "Transfer Out" section will show the date when transfer becomes available).

4 Steps to Transfer Out After 60 Days

1. Preparation: If assigned to a Kanorio site, Kanorio's automatic DNS will stop working after transfer. We recommend setting the "Assign Website" to "Unassigned" (or preparing CNAME records at the new registrar) and disabling "Auto-Renew" to avoid double billing.
2. Unlock Domain: At the bottom of the "Domain Management" panel, expand "Transfer Out", click "Unlock Domain" next to "Transfer Lock," and confirm. The status will change to "Unlocked."
3. Get Authorization Code (EPP Code / Auth Code): Click "Get Auth Code." The system will display the code for one-click copying or email it to your registrant address.
4. Initiate Transfer at New Registrar: Go to your new registrar's dashboard, initiate a "Transfer In," and paste the code. Transfers typically take 5 to 7 days. Once complete, Kanorio will mark the domain as "Transferred Out" and stop billing. (If you change your mind, you can click "Re-lock" to restore protection.)

Sending Emails and Anti-Spoofing with Your Domain

Buying a domain gets you the "address," but "website" and "company email" are different services:

1. Send Store/Marketing Emails from Your Domain (No Extra Mailbox Needed): If you only want order confirmations, form notifications, and newsletters to appear as coming from @yourbrand.com, you do not need to buy an external mailbox! Just go to and add the domain. Since Kanorio manages the DNS, we automatically add and lock the SPF and DKIM records for you (see ).
2. Apply for a Company Mailbox (e.g., hello@yourbrand.com): If you need a daily-use mailbox to send and receive emails, apply with a provider (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail) and add their provided MX and TXT (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) records in the "DNS Records" section of your Kanorio "Domain Management" panel.
3. Advanced Security Tip: If this domain does not receive email at all: If your domain is only for a website and you don't plan to use it for email, we recommend adding these three anti-spoofing records to the "DNS Records" to declare to the world that this domain does not receive or send email, preventing scammers from using your domain for phishing:
   • Type MX, Name @, Value ., Priority 0 (Null MX)
   • Type TXT, Name @, Value v=spf1 -all
   • Type TXT, Name _dmarc, Value v=DMARC1; p=reject (Note: Do not add these if you use Google Workspace. If you only use Kanorio's "Sending Domain," these records will not conflict as Kanorio uses a separate send subdomain.)
