Marketing Widgets: Ad Bars, Pop-ups, and Floating Buttons
Overview
Marketing widgets are elements that proactively alert visitors or provide next steps on your public website. They are ideal for promoting limited-time offers, guiding bookings, highlighting important messages, or allowing visitors to contact you anytime via WhatsApp, phone, and custom links.
Kanorio's ad bars, pop-up notifications, and custom floating widgets are Kanorio Pro and Business features. Before setting them up, define a clear goal, such as "Guide visitors to book a consultation" or "Announce this week's special offer," to avoid displaying too many competing messages at once.
Where to Set Up
- Go to the "Marketing Tech" settings.
- Depending on the type you want to use, open "Ad Bars," "Pop-up Notifications," or "Floating Widgets."
- Click "Set up" to add or edit content.
- Save, then preview, and confirm the actual display on your live website.
Top Ad Bars
Top ad bars appear at the very top of your website and are suitable for short messages you don't want visitors to miss, such as:
- Limited-time offers or event deadlines.
- New services, holidays, or changes in business hours.
- Links for sign-ups, bookings, or new product launches.
Each bar can be configured with:
- Rich text messages and a branded background color.
- An optional call-to-action button and link.
- Whether visitors can close it.
- Permanent display or specific start and end dates.
- Ordering and scheduling for multiple bars.
Clicks on bar CTAs are included in your website's button interaction analytics. You can observe their performance in "Analytics → Pages & Conversions."
Pop-up Notifications
Pop-up notifications appear in the center of the screen when visitors land on your page. They are suitable for important messages that don't need to be permanently fixed on the page, such as event registrations, age verification, or membership recruitment.
You can set:
- Body text, images, and image placement.
- One primary CTA and one secondary CTA.
- How the link opens, or an age verification action.
- Permanent display or specific campaign dates.
- Ordering for multiple pop-ups.
Typically, pop-ups use the browser's local storage to avoid repeatedly bothering the same visitor in a short period. If set for age verification, the system will adopt different display behaviors for security purposes.
Floating Widgets
Floating widgets remain fixed in a corner of your website, accessible to visitors on any page. The system offers items like Cookie Consent and Kanorio branding; Pro and Business plans also allow for custom widgets.
Custom widgets can be configured with:
- WhatsApp, phone, or other supported platforms.
- Custom icons, titles, and links.
- Animation effects.
- Position in the bottom-left or bottom-right corner for desktop.
- Display order and preview.
On mobile, they are fixed to the bottom-right corner to avoid interfering with touch operations.
Widget Usage Recommendations
- For each campaign, keep only one primary CTA.
- Keep ad bar text concise so visitors can understand it at a glance.
- Don't clutter every page with pop-ups; they should deliver more critical information than regular pages.
- Before linking to bookings, forms, or external platforms, test them thoroughly on your live website.
- Close or set an end date for campaigns after they conclude to avoid displaying expired offers.
