[Feature Update] Launch Courses on Your Own Website: Video Lessons, Quizzes, Certificates, and Student Management—All-in-One with Kanorio

Kanorio Marketing Team · Published Nov 6, 2026

Kanorio website builder integrates video lessons, quizzes, certificates, and student management

Are you looking to launch an online course to share your expertise, experience, or methods with the world, but feeling stuck on which platform to choose?

Some platforms offer exposure, while others are better for building your own brand. You have to figure out pricing, video hosting, and how students access content after payment. If you want to add quizzes, issue certificates, or manage student engagement after the course, the time spent researching tools and integrations adds up quickly.

Kanorio’s latest update brings online course features directly to your website. You can now sell video courses, audio, e-books, and digital downloads. From creating materials and processing payments to student access, progress tracking, and ongoing engagement—everything is managed from a single dashboard.

Start with one course or a single digital product, build your content and student list, and scale as your business grows.

From Video Courses to E-books: Choose the Right Delivery Method

Kanorio course and digital download management

You don’t need to record a full video series to start selling your knowledge. PDFs, work templates, design assets, or audio lessons can all be sold as products on your site.

Kanorio offers two structures, "Courses" and "Downloads," to suit different needs:

Content you want to provideFormatHow students use it
Video courses, audio series, chapter-based materialsCourseLearn by chapter and unit, track progress
PDF materials for online reading with learning rulesCourseRead in the viewer, complete units as set
PDF ebooks, templates, asset packs, practice filesDownloadableLog in to view the file list and download

You can also bundle video courses with downloadable handouts. Once a student pays, the system automatically grants access to the content—no need to verify payments manually or send files one by one.

For instructions, see Creating Courses and Downloads and Bundling Products for Sale.

Organize Your Curriculum in the Dashboard, or Let Claude Help

When creating a course, you can add chapters and units directly in the dashboard, upload videos, audio, PDFs, or text, and reorder them as needed. If you have a batch of files, upload them all at once, and the system will create units based on file types.

If you are still mapping out your curriculum, connect your AI assistant (like Claude or ChatGPT) via MCP to help build the structure, set up previews, define release schedules, or generate quiz questions.

For example, you can describe your requirements like this:

Help me create a "Brand Content Planning 101" course with three chapters and four units each. Make the first unit free to preview, release the second chapter 7 days after enrollment, and add a five-question multiple-choice quiz to the third chapter with explanations for each answer. Keep it as a draft until I confirm.

This is an example of an AI prompt; you should always review the generated content. Since the dashboard and your AI assistant work with the same course data, there is no need to move generated outlines into another system.

Currently, quiz questions are created and edited by your AI assistant, while passing scores, attempt limits, and answer reveal timings are adjusted in the unit settings.

Automatic Video Streaming: Students Learn at Their Own Pace

Adaptive Streaming for Every Network Environment

Some students watch your course on a desktop with stable Wi-Fi, while others watch on their phones during a commute. Kanorio automatically generates streaming versions based on the resolution of your uploaded video, allowing the player to adjust quality in real-time without requiring the student to download the entire file.

Think of it as "capped at the original, compatible downwards":

  • Upload 1080p high-res video: The system prepares a 1080p stream and automatically generates 720p, 360p, and other lower-quality versions.
  • Upload 720p video: The maximum quality is 720p, with lower-quality versions like 360p prepared; it will not upscale to 1080p.
  • Network changes: The player selects the best quality based on current speed, and students can also manually select their preferred quality.

Since the system cannot make blurry footage clear, we recommend uploading high-quality source files. The actual available resolutions depend on the source file and transcoding results.

This feature is built into all plans with no extra transcoding fees. Video processing takes time, and playback quality is still subject to network and device limitations.

Note: The original file is kept, and the generated streaming versions occupy storage space. The "Size" in your media library refers to the original file, while "Storage Usage" includes both the original and the generated streaming versions, which will be higher than the original file size.

Previews, Drip Content, Quizzes, and Certificates

Kanorio course learning rules, quizzes, and certificate settings

You don't have to release the entire course at once. You can offer a free preview, then release subsequent content on fixed dates or based on the number of days since the student enrolled.

Learning rules can be customized:

  • Sequential completion: Require students to finish the previous unit before moving to the next.
  • Set milestones: For example, require passing a chapter quiz to unlock subsequent content.
  • Optional content: Mark supplementary materials as non-essential for course completion.
  • Add quizzes: Set passing scores, attempt limits, and answer reveal timing.
  • Automatic certificates: Once enabled, students who meet completion criteria can download a branded PDF certificate. You can also upload your own background design.

For example, in a four-week course, you could release the first week's content, drip-feed the following chapters based on enrollment days, and finish with a quiz to verify learning. Adjust these settings to fit your teaching style.

Content Protection: Reducing Unauthorized Sharing and Account Sharing

If paid content is hosted via public links, those links can be shared, allowing non-paying users to access your material.

Kanorio’s courses and downloads use protected files rather than fixed public URLs. When a student accesses content, the system verifies their permission and generates a time-limited playback or download link that expires after use.

For videos and PDFs, you can disable downloads to keep students within your player or reader. You can also limit the number of devices a single account can use simultaneously to discourage account sharing.

While these mechanisms make unauthorized distribution more difficult, they cannot completely prevent screen recording, photography, or re-sharing of downloaded files. Videos requiring high security should be uploaded as protected files; external embedded videos remain subject to the original platform's permissions.

Track Student Progress After the Sale

Kanorio course learning data and student progress analysis

Sales reports tell you how much you’ve sold, but learning data helps you understand if students are starting, where they get stuck, and how to improve your materials.

Kanorio allows you to view course-wide start rates, completion rates, student progress, and unit performance. You can also drill down into individual students to see completed content, watch time, and recent activity.

What you see in the dashboardWhat to check
Students haven't started after purchasingIs the login and course access clear? Is the first lesson easy to start?
Students are stuck on the same unitIs the content too long, the difficulty jump too high, or are instructions missing?
A specific section is rewatched repeatedlyDo you need to add diagrams, handouts, or a slower demonstration?
Low pass rate for a specific quizIs the question clear? Has the corresponding content been taught?
A group of students recently completed the courseIs it a good time to invite feedback, share experiences, or introduce advanced courses?

These are clues for troubleshooting, not definitive proof of cause. When you have fewer students, individual learning details are more helpful. Some analytics and video retention curves require data from at least 5 students to display.

Detailed video analytics apply to the Kanorio player; external embedded videos do not provide the same level of tracking. Downloads track download events but do not calculate course progress or completion rates.

Keep Your Student List in Your Dashboard for Future Growth

See who bought which course, how far they’ve progressed, and whether they are subscribed to your newsletter—all in your dashboard. You can organize with tags, create segments, and export lists to maintain your student relationships.

For example, when launching an advanced course, filter for students who bought the beginner course but haven't purchased the advanced one, then send them an introduction or an alumni discount. Newsletter sending requires a Pro plan or higher and is only sent to students who have opted in.

Post-completion workflows can also be automated: the system can automatically add a "Completed" tag or grant access to the next course upon completion. To send automated recommendation emails, you can connect an external email tool via Webhook.

Use tags to organize students, then schedule your newsletters. For real-time, individual automated emails, connect an external automation tool based on your business needs.

No Fees Based on Student Count or Views: Predictable Costs

Adding more students or having them re-watch your content won't trigger extra Kanorio streaming bandwidth fees. We do not charge extra based on the number of students, views, or watch minutes.

When estimating costs, focus on your chosen plan, the storage used for your materials, and your actual sales. Video length helps estimate capacity, but actual usage depends on quality, export settings, and streaming versions.

ItemHow it's calculated
Website planBilled based on Free, Pro, or Business plan and billing cycle
Storage spaceIncludes both original and streaming versions; paid plans can add more as needed
Kanorio platform feeFree: 9%, Pro: 3%, Business: 0%
Payment processing feeCalculated separately based on the payment provider and method
NewsletterCalculated based on the included volume and additional quota needed

Based on monthly pricing in NTD, the Pro plan is NT290/month, and the Business plan is NT2,790/month. The Business plan offers 200 GB of storage and 0% Kanorio platform fees, making it ideal for larger course libraries or higher sales volumes. Third-party payment processing fees still apply; check the subscription page for current pricing.

How much content fits in 200 GB? Three scenarios

File sizes vary significantly even for videos of the same length. Screen-recordings are usually smaller, while live-action footage or high-export settings will consume more space.

Here are estimates for capacity planning, with original files and streaming versions listed separately:

Scenario and assumptionsOriginal file sizeStreaming storage addedTotal storage usage
1-hour live course recording: 720p, mainly slides and narrationApprox. 1–2 GBApprox. 0.5–1.5 GBApprox. 1.5–3.5 GB
2-hour lecture recording: 720p, mainly fixed-camera shotApprox. 2–4 GBApprox. 1–3 GBApprox. 3–7 GB
5-hour premium online course: 1080p live-action, split into multiple unitsApprox. 10–20 GBApprox. 10–20 GBApprox. 20–40 GB

These are estimates based on the scenarios above, not fixed conversion ratios. Actual usage varies by content, encoding, quality, and export settings. "5-hour course" refers to the total duration of multiple units, not a single file.

With the 5-hour course totaling 40 GB estimate, 200 GB holds roughly 5 such courses. This assumes all capacity is used for video; remember to account for website images, handouts, and other files.

You don't need to upload high, medium, and low-quality versions; upload a clear source file, and the system handles the rest. When estimating capacity, include these versions. Always check the usage displayed in your media library after processing is complete.

The Free plan includes course and streaming capabilities, but the website shares a 200 MB storage limit and does not include newsletter features, making it better for smaller e-books or handouts. For video courses, we recommend the Pro plan or higher.
