Reviews & Ratings

Star ratings and written reviews of products, with moderation, store replies and imported reviews.

Reviews let customers rate and describe what they bought. A review points at its target, and the target stores only the aggregate rating and display settings.

Core objects

  • Reviews. A rating and text from a verified buyer, or an imported review. Buyer reviews are approved or rejected; imported reviews can also be deleted.
  • Replies. The store's public answer to a review.
  • Settings. Per product: whether reviews are on, the visibility threshold and any historical rating to start from.

How the APIs fit

  • Read published reviews and the rating summary with the Content Delivery API, or render them with <kanorio-reviews> and <kanorio-rating>.
  • Customers write and edit their own reviews through the Customer API.
  • Moderate, reply, import and change settings with the Management API.
  • Webhooks report submitted, published and replied reviews.

    Each target (product, service) has its own list and aggregate. A mixed wall blends ratings of unrelated items, which UK CMA guidance treats as potentially misleading.
  • Google Product Ratings feed generationNot offered
    Alternative
    Build the feed from Delivery GET /reviews yourself. The feed has minimum-count, language, low-rating and verification policies that are easy to violate; Kanorio guarantees imported reviews are never marked verified so your feed stays compliant.
  • Hiding or auto-rejecting reviews by star ratingNot offered
    Alternative
    reviews.reject exists for content that breaks your rules. Filtering by rating is prohibited by the FTC Consumer Reviews Rule (2024) and UK CMA guidance, so there is no such option.

  • reviews.submitted · Fired when a buyer submits or edits a review (it is pending moderation).
  • reviews.published · Fired when a review becomes public: approved by the store, or imported.
  • reviews.replied · Fired when the store posts or replaces its public reply to a review.
