Media & Assets

The media library with public and protected files, image variants and placeholders, video streaming and processing status.

Available

Every image, video and file a site uses lives in its media library. Content refers to files by asset id, and responses resolve ids to URLs, sizes, alt text and placeholders.

Core objects

  • Assets. A file with its visibility, tags, alt text, focal point and processing status. Public files are served from a CDN. Protected files, such as course videos, are only reachable through short-lived signed URLs.
  • Image variants. Resized versions on demand, plus a tiny blurred placeholder for every image.
  • Video streaming. Videos are converted to adaptive streams, with signed segments for protected videos.

How the APIs fit

  • Upload by URL or file, request direct upload URLs for large files, create upload links for clients, and import stock photos with the Management API.
  • Every Content Delivery API response that references media includes the assets map.
  • <kanorio-media> and <kanorio-lightbox> play media and show images.
  • Webhooks report when an asset is ready or failed to process.

What the APIs expose

  • Public & protected media, responsive images, LQIP placeholders, lightbox & HLS video streamingAvailable
